Why do Some People Snore?
When you are asleep and relaxed, and breathing through your mouth rather than through your nose, the air coming out causes your soft palate – the tissue at the back and top of your mouth – to flutter back and forth. This fluttering, or vibration, makes a sound called a snore. Often this vibration causes the cheeks, lips, and nostrils to vibrate as well, causing an even louder snore.

Although many ways have been tried to stop snoring – from tying a bandage from the chin to the top of the head to keep the mouth closed…to actually removing part of the soft palate, no one has found a sure-fire method. However, some people claim that if you sleep on your side rather than on your back, you are less likely to snore. Nobody knows why, but men snore more than women and children.

Can you imagine….
The loudest snore recorded has been measured at 69 decibels – or almost as loud as a pneumatic drill!!!

TRYBS Puchong and Kinrara Metta Buddhist Society Youth joint activity

Date : 27th July 2008
Venue
: Lumbini Garden, Puchong.

Activity
: TRYBS/KMBS Treasure Hunt

Total number of participants
: 15 (6 from KMBS and 8 from TRYBS, Puchong)
Short Report : In conjunction with the 2nd visit of KMBS (Kinrara Metta Buddhist Society) youths and their advisor, Bro.Alex Wong. A total of 15 youths participated in the Treasure Hunt.
This sunday our TRYBS arranged a treasure hunt activity with KMBS youths. A total of 6 youths from KMBS together with Bro Alex came for their 2nd visit to Lumbini Garden. A total of 14 youths participated in this activity.and it took them 1hr 30 mins to complete the activity. The youths were grouped into 4 teams with a leader aged 16 or 17. Each team has a combination of KMBS and TRYBS youths to enable them to mingle and work together as a team. The youths are required to solve 15 riddles by identifying the names of shops situated 2 rows along Lumbini Garden. It was a first time for most of the youths and they find it hard to solve them despite me giving me 4-5 examples before the start-off. Anyway Bro Alex (KMBS's youth advisor) told me it was a good way for them to let them think out of the box (cracking the riddles) and draining out their energy (with all the walking).

Overall , it was an exhausting long walk for our youths but overall it was an enjoyable activity.
